Mission Statement

Welcome to SHEGOLF: Spotlighting the Voices of Women Golfers! This platform is a place where women golfers can freely share their own voices and their own experiences, and is also place where female golfers can learn from and relate to one another through the stories they share.

In a male-dominated sport, experiences, perspectives, and voices of female golfers are often overlooked. This blog collects stories and comments that shed light on the female golfer's experience. This isn't something that can be seen on the news, or something that can be read about in golf magazines. This is a blog with real-life stories about female golfers who strive for success in this sport and have persevered through highs and lows. While you may have seen them play or read about their successes, their tournament results, their golf statistics, and their rankings, you haven't heard their stories...until now.

Authors have the liberty to approach this field from whatever angle they see fit, but for inspiration, prompts for this category include but are not limited to:

When did you start playing golf and how did you get into it?
What do you feel you have gained from this sport?
What is your favorite memory as a junior golfer?
What’s it like competing in golf versus other sports?
For those of you on a co-ed team, what is it like competing alongside and against boys? How would you describe the level of respect and equality you experience on the team?
What advice would you offer for younger female junior golfers?
